Redside Development Gives Historic Downtown Buildings a Redo

Hamilton Building, PortlandPortland – A development company recently gave new life to two historic buildings downtown.

Redside Development, in a push to give the two historic office building at Southwest Third and Morrison streets a look that draws creative companies to downtown’s east side, have revamped the 12-story Loyalty Building and the six-story Hamilton Building, reported the Daily Journal of Commerce.

Both buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places.  The $2 million renovation of the two landmarks are making way for them to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design gold ratings, the journal reported.  The buildings needed extensive work after poor maintenance over the years.  The renovations Redside made included tearing up asbestos-laden floor tiles, taking out drop ceilings, and exposing the brick in the perimeter walls.
