The Department of Environmental quality reported this week that the recycling of computers, monitors, and televisions increased by 7 percent in 2011 from 2010, reported the Oregonian.
In 2011, residents recycled 25.9 million pounds of electronics, the newspaper reported.
The recycling of electronics has increased each year since the Oregon E-Cycles program launched in 2009. The program is manufacturer funded.
More than 220 sites statewide will take the goods for free.
